Thought for the Day – Jun 21

HAVE YOU CONVINCED YOUR FAMILY YET THAT “HOUSEKEEPING IS NOT A ONE-WOMAN SHOW?!”

ACCORDING TO THE 2017 AMERICAN TIME USE SURVEY (US BUREAU OF LABOR STATISTICS), ON AN AVERAGE DAY, 84 PERCENT OF WOMEN & 68 PERCENT OF MEN SPENT SOME TIME DOING HOUSEHOLD ACTIVITIES SUCH AS HOUSEWORK, COOKING, LAWN CARE, FINANCIAL & OTHER HOUSEHOLD MANAGEMENT CHORES, INCLUDING INTERIOR/EXTERIOR REPAIRS, PET CARE, VEHICLES, APPLIANCES, TOOLS, & TOYS. THIS % HAS ONLY SLIGHTLY INCREASED FOR MEN DURING THE PAST SEVERAL DECADES.

“Does this sound familiar for you women out there? You work all day, go home, then cook dinner. You clean up, take out the trash, and maybe even do some vacuuming while your sweet husband watches television or works on his golf swing. No, this isn‘t just for the 1950s. It still holds for today.”
